Panjim: The Aam Admi Party (AAP) has promised the people of Panjim to make the capital into a green and walkable city with all basic amenities in place.
In the manifesto for the ensuing Panjim by-poll released on Monday, the party also assured that Panjim will be efficient and smart under its candidate Valmiki Naik.
“Today Panjim is ranked 90th out of 11 cities in India in the ‘Ease of Living Index’ by the Ministry of Housing Affairs. Let us together bring it to top 10,” Naik’s manifesto states as it reels out a list of promises for people living in different parts of Panjim and outskirts.
The party has also mentioned about holding ward sabha every six months to listen to the grievances of the residents and find a solution. The meeting, the manifesto states, will have the attendance of the MLA, local corporator, Smart City official, PWD and Electricity engineers and officials from various related departments and experts.
Priority to water supply and electricity, traffic management and parking plan, e-governance and free wi-fi zone, pedestrian friendly city, vaddo clinic, rejuvenation and revival of water bodies are amongst other promises mentioned in the two-page manifesto. “The basics first, no false promises,” it states.
