Ban on water sports at Morjim beach

Panjim: Captain of Ports (CoP) has temporarily suspended all water sports activities at Morjim Beach with immediate effect.

A press release issued by the CoP says that the Department has issued an order to temporarily stop all water sports operations at Morjim Beach as it is a turtle nesting zone.

“As there are various controversies going on regarding Morjim beach as a Turtle Nesting Zone…, the Department will not issue any new NOCs for water sports vessels to operate at Morjim beach till such time Morjim beach is declared for water sports operations by the Department of Tourism”, the order stated.

The order has directed all the water sports vessels presently operating at Morjim beach to stop the operations immediately.
