Bison rescued from well in Netravali

Sanguem: A bison which accidentally fell into a private well within the precincts of Netravali Wild Life Sanctuary (NWLS) was jointly rescued by villagers and forest officials.

Range Forest Officer John Fernandes informed that his office received information at around 10 am of the bison having trapped into an open well in a private property and a team was rushed to the site immediately to carry out the rescue operation.

He said that since the bison was struggling to come out of the open well, officials with the assistance of the villagers breached the side wall of the well to help the bison come out.

“In the afternoon, the bison jumped out of the well through the temporary way and ran into forest area. There were no injuries and the bison was totally safe,” Fernandes stated. [H]
