Visit to Clergy Home and Aged Home by DBPPA, PanjimThe Don Bosco Past Pupils Association, Panjim organised its annual visit to the Clergy Home, Porvorim and Mother Theresa's Aged Home, Panjim. The programme was well attended by many past pupils, their friends and families. The programme at Clergy Home consisted of Music and Entertainment for the aged priests. In his address, the president of the DBPPA, Edward Noronha expressed the gratitude to all the dioscesean priest who have served the community for long with dedication and regretted that the number of priests at the Clergy home were much less this year than during their visit last year. He expressed grief at the recent passing away of Fr. Stephen, who was there last year. Fr. Manual Pinto Rosario, Director of the Clergy Home als spoke on the occasion and thank the DBPPA for visiting them regularly and making the priest felt loved and cared for. Each of the priests were then gifted with a botle of wine, sponsored by Joseph Pinto, past pupil of DBPPA, and fruits. The programme at the Clergy Home, which was held on 30 July 2000 from 10.45 a.m. to 11.30, was co-ordinated by Orlando Mascarenhas, Secretary of the DBPPA. The Past Pupils then drove to Mother Theresa's Aged Home. After a brief session of music and songs, Inacio Casmiro Viegas, Asst. Treasurer of DBPPA led the inmates into prayer, after which the Past Pupils served the inmates a meal, which was sponsored by the DBPPA. Mother Superior of the Aged Home thanked the DBPPA for providing the inmates of the home, which included children (orphans) such a sumptous meal. The program at Mother Theresa's, which was from 12.00 noon to 12.45 p.m, was co-ordinated by Inacio Casmiro Viegas. Yours in Don Bosco, |
