Calangute: It is only a matter of time before Michael Lobo is made a minister, said chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Sunday, while speaking at the felicitation function of Union defence minister Manohar Parrikar held on Sunday evening at Parra tinto.
The chief minister said that Lobo, the Calangute MLA, has been doing “exceptional” work and has raced far ahead of all other MLAs as far as taking up the development work in his constituency is concerned.
“Projects which were not taken up by previous governments during the last 25 years in Calangute have been completed by this government,” said the chief minister.
Michael Lobo said that in the last four years he has taken up and completed most of the development projects which he had promised during the last assembly elections. “The sewerage network is almost complete, the sewerage treatment plant is getting ready, the garbage treatment plant is almost ready; we have built changing rooms and toilets at Baga and Calangute, widened roads, and also built a new bridge at Arpora where the previous governments had only laid foundation stones,” he said.
“All the remaining works like the beautification of the Candolim beach main entrance, changing rooms and toilets at Candolim and other places, widening and beautification of the road to Calangute beach from Jack Sequeira statue to Bandodkar statue will completed in the next one year. The tenders for these are almost ready and will be issued shortly,” Lobo said.[TOI]
