Ten years ago the Goan Overseas Association of Toronto hosted the first ever International Goan Convention.

This web site is commemorates the spirit of the People of Goa here in Toronto who conceived planned and organized what was then regarded as a bold and ambitious undertaking.

To mark this event, GOACOM has created this web site from publications, brochures, news reports of the convention. The technology of World Wide Web has not developed sufficiently to display in detail and full colour photos of the event.

Despite these limitations, there is the need to ensure that this tenth anniversary does not pass unheralded. We need to be remind ourselves of what took place then to restore confidence in our abilities, and to inform our youth that the Goan community is, and will continue to remain a distinctive part of Canada's history and heritage.

This display will remain on the WWW until December 1998. Viewers are invited to send in articles, accounts, impressions, and photos of the Convention.
