He said, “Chandrakant alias Babu Kavalekar is the Congress Legislature Party leader and since he is leading the MLAs, there is no question of me being in the race to be the chief minister if Congress is invited to form the government.”
The government functioning has been paralysed for many months now due to the illness of various legislators including ministers, he said and gave examples of his own constituency.
He said the Power Department has practically stopped functioning since the time Pandurang Madkaikar fell sick.
“Earlier Madkaikar helped me and gave me a new transformer at the Konkan Railway Corporation but now for the transformer at Navelim, the department cannot prepare the legal documents required and that is the reason the work is pending,” he claimed.
