Curchorem: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar hit out at the BJP led government for portraying Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar that he is functioning and working.
Speaking after the party’s Jan Aakrosh function at Quepem on Sunday, at Quepem Municipal hall, Chodankar said that it is a disgraceful and inhuman act to bring the sick chief minister at construction site of third Mandovi Bridge and releasing his photo as if he is inspecting the progress of the work.
“If sees the photograph very closely, Parrikar is still having a tube in his nose and with one person supporting him from behind and this has been done to prejudice the court as the court has reserved its judgment after hearing the arguments. The judiciary is smart enough to understand every situation,” Chodankar said and demanded to know why he has not spoken and the press was not taken to the site.
He also condemned the attitude of the government for not inviting the local MLA of Cuncolim constituency Clafasio Dias while unveiling the foundation stone for the Goa NIT Complex being constructed at Cuncolim in the presence of Union Minister Prakash Javdekar at his Dona Paula residence on Saturday.
Launching a scathing attack on the government over the collapse in administration, Chodankar said that there are no funds to pay pensions and payments under various schemes.
Blaming the Goa Governor for not functioning as per Constitution, he said, “She is getting payments, perks and all the benefits from tax-payers money to function and protect the constitution for the betterment of the people but she is working for BJP and therefore she failed to perform her duties as Governor.”
Said Girish and demanded her resignation if she cannot work independently. [H]
