Saints Procession at Goa Velha
on 10th April 2000

The procession of the Saints draws hundreds of people from neighboring villages around Goa Velha. The service begins with outdoor mass, followed by the procession of the Saints. The statues are brought out in succession from the door of St. Andrew's Church around the square and through the streets of the village. As each statue emerges, a priest speaking through a microphone narrates the life-story of each saint in Konkani. As the Saints are carried through the crowd, devotees can be seen ducking under the floats to receive the blessing of the saints. The procession ends by sundown with an outdoor sermon.

Below are a few photographs of some of the Saints being taken in a procession on the occasion of the Saints Procession which is held every year.
