The Portuguese-era built Casa Comunidade Sub-Administracao of Pomburpa village and the then seat of Escrivao who used
to man the whole Khazan land affairs, the portion Ghar, which was in a dilapidated state, collapsed in the wee hours of Thursday with the heavy rains.
When the administrative was then shifted to Mapusa Headquarters the VP of Pomburpa-Olaulim had functioned from this premise for many years till the new Panchayat Ghar was build opposite in the year 2001. Then after in the same premise Ghar, the Sub-Post Office was opened and now two years back they had vacated on seeing the dilapidated condition of the Ghar.
Now, what matters is that the side premise seen in the picture is the Primary School and small students’ movement around the area is worrisome and in the evening boys play cricket on the front school ground. The dilapidated remains of the Ghar portion can come down anytime. In the interest of the small students and boys who play there, the need of hour is to keep safety around the collapsed area.
I request the concerned authority to look into the matter before it is too late. [H]
