THE GOAN ASSOCIATION is registered as a community based non-profit organization, founded on 18th April 1975 as a Society in Alberta, Canada, catering primarily for persons of Goan ancestry, their spouses and children in Calgary. All friends, and well wishers are welcome to the membership and to participate.

Each adult completes an application and enjoys full voting rights with the exception of a Youth Member. For all persons, applying for membership, there is an entrance fee and/or an annual subscription fee that is payable, in advance, with a completed application for membership. Your sponsors will advise you of the current fees. Categories of membership is that of an ORDINARY MEMBER, YOUTH MEMBER and PATRON MEMBER. In the event that the application is not accepted, the fee(s) paid will be refunded by cheque.

To continue our customs, traditions, preserve our cultural links to Goa and/or our language Konkani, the Board of Directors of the ASSOCIATION will be chosen from the Goan members only.
