Goa Dairy official held for bribery

Panjim: The anti-corruption branch (ACB) on Monday arrested a Goa Dairy official for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe from a milk supplier.

Sunny Malik, Senior Supervisor of Goa Dairy was caught red-handed accepting bribe from a milk supplier through a ‘middle man’ who is also charged with collecting bribe amount on behalf of Malik.

“He demanded bribe of Rs 3,000 for handing over the cheque of Rs 9,000 (approx) issued by Goa Dairy towards the commission of the sale of milk. The accused Sunny Malik called the complainant with the bribe amount at Mapusa near Bus Stand,” information released by ACB SP Priyanka Kashyap stated.

The complainant lodged a complaint with the ACB soon after which a trap was laid and a person by name Manjit Singh was caught red handed while accepting the bribe amount of Rs 3,000 from the complainant Balkrishna Chavan at the Goa Dairy Booth at Mapusa Bus stand. “Accused Sunny Malik was also caught red handed when he came to collect the bribe money from the accused Manjit Singh who had collected the money of Rs 3,000 on behalf of Malik,” it stated.
