SWEET NOTES

Music at Saturday BazaarMusic has been called the spice of life and hence no occasion is complete with music. One fine Saturday we happened to drop in the Saturday Bazaar at Arpora-Baga among the several stalls, was a small stage and which an African band was playing some of the hottest music. What I enjoyed most was the Swahili songs which they rendered so magnificently. Tough guys they looked, playing the guitar and various kinds of percussion instruments. They sang so coolly, almost effortlessly, and yet produced so much ryhthm and harmony.

Fredrik, Rebecca, Samir, Rahul & Remo (L-R)The Swedish-Goan pop group, VIP, released their maiden English audio "Enjoy" recently at Alva Mar in Parra, at the hands of rockstar Remo Fernandes. It was while playing at the food festival in Miramar that Rebecca and Fredrik Quiterio got inspired to cut their own music album. With "Enjoy", a techno-pop mix aimed at the youth and partygoers who enjoy simple, easy and catchy tunes, doing handsomely well at the music shops, the young couple plan to produce a video of their album. Rebecca's father hails Parra and her mother is Swedish, so is her husband Fredrik, who has adopted her surname Quiterio.
