Here is an appeal received by us from the parish of Arpora-Baga-Nagoa in Goa, for contributions, from the parishioners residing abroad, to raise a Community Centre for the parish.

Dear Parishioners/Friends, 

The Holy Trinity Church, Nagoa-Bardez, has been doing everything possible for the upliftment of the moral and social values of the parishioners, through various associations like the Fabrica, Parish Council, Youth Association, Altar Boys and Girls Association, St Vincent Paul Society, etc. not to fcomet the role played by the Canossian Sisters and the Canossian Sons of Charity. Various activities are carried out by these associations in the parish, however, with one major handicap, that they have to operate from whatever little space is available in the church premises. It is only because of the zeal and enthusiasm of the members of various associations that such activities are being carried out despite the lack of space. 

The Community Hall Project has gripped the attention of the parishioners for the last few years. This hall would cater to youngsters, the catechists, in having a library hall, a recreation hall and also help the elderly meet, besides being used for various parish activities. 

In keeping with the purpose of the Community Hall, where fellow villagers can meet and carry on their activities and the fact that his hall would belong to the parish and therefore to all parishioners, it has been decided that contributions for the purpose of constructing this hall be made by every parish family by showing their commitment to the community by donating the cost of at least 1 built up sq metre of the hall, which has been estimated at Rs.6,500. With contribution from every parish family then can contribute, the Community Hall and its project of around 700 sq metres would soon be a landmark in the parish and a leading light to the community, by the nature of its activities. 

We look forward to your contribution with a positive commitment to the welfare of this parish, for carrying out various activities, and to enable us to harness the full value of the talent within us. Your generous contribution towards at least, the cost of 1 sq mt of the hall would be greatly appreciated.
