She inherited her love for flowers and gardening from her mother, who too couldn't be beaten at making wonderful bouquets. The green-thumb's marriage to Valente D'Costa swept her to the bustling port-town and into culturing Tender Hearts and her 250-odd indoor plants. Christina's flair for flowers arrangements and bouquet-making got going actually on October 14, 1995. The store opened her avenues to display her talent and sophistry at her pet calling.
Tender Hearts wear an enviable halo around it, making it a trustworthy florist, which attracts a clientele from among leading business houses and institutions, and those with a sophisticated taste for flowers. They regularly deliver dainty flower arrangements to parishes of St. Andrew, Our lady of Desterro, St Jacinto and Chicalim. The fame runs beyond Vasco, drawing regular orders for flower arrangements, bouquets, wreaths and grave arrangements. Their arrangements adorn many a special buffet table. Cristina says that she conceptualizes her arrangement based on the type and quality of flowers, from the color combination to the ultimate location and the color backdrop where the bouquet or arrangement will be placed. Cristina is helped by Roy, a trained assistant in flower arrangement, besides Pradeep. Roy, neat and quick at work, can easily fix any intricate flower arrangement in less than 20 minutes to the satisfaction of the client. The nimble fingers work work and honestly, and that's perhaps the reason for the ever-rising reputation of Tender Hearts.

In Cristina's creativity it manifests very eloquently at Tender
Hearts. Here your desires and thoughts transform into arresting
bouquets, or artistic arrangements in variegated designs, shapes and
sizes, with premium class carnations, orchids, zerberas,
chrysentamums, beatrice, Bird of Paradise, lilliums, oriental
lilies, Asiatic lilies, anthuriums, daisies, gladiolas and roses in
assorted colors. These fresh flowers arrive daily from flower
nurseries at Bangalore and Ooty, while the special Orchids come from
Mangalore. 
Says Cristina, "We normally accept orders for special
arrangements and special wedding bouquets least 15 days ahead." Thus
the client is assured of the choice color combinations. One can also
select the specific choice from catalogues available for reference
at the shop. For other normal arrangements and bridal bouquets, a
week's advance order is fair enough.
