SIOLIM PLANT FESTIVAL
The eleventh
edition of the popular "Siolim Plant Festival" took off on August
24. It was inaugurated at the hands of Goan filmstar Amita Salary at
the SFX Higher Secondary School in Siolim. A wide variety of plants,
dainty articles turned out from waste, admirable vegetable carving
and flower arrangement besides prominent plant nurseries selling
almost everything in gardening, are the factors which have been
attracting people in large numbers to the three-day plant festival
for the past one decade. Students from all the six high schools had
put up science exhibits and there were talks on snake protection and
other eco-related topics. The prizes were distributed by US-based
Goan Anthony D'Souza.
KHANDOLA EXHIBITION
The nature club
of Government College, Khandola, in association with the Botanical
Society of Goa, recently organised the annual plant mela and plant
competition in the college
premises.
