Dear goaNOW,

I was born in Goa and have lived in the US most of my life. I just happened to view your site and found it to be great. I hope you keep on with your site and get more of our Goan brothers and sisters involved. Years ago the only way I could find out things about our beautiful Goa was by visiting it myself. In fact, I was just down for Carnival '99. I do have a question about the Carnival? I was told by a few school students that the Carnival is not that important to Goans anymore because they are told it is a Portuguese feast. If you could fill me in on why they have this obscene idea, I would most appreciate.

When are you updating the GoaNOW magazine for the September month? S. D'SOUZA Margaret Thanks for your beautiful articles on Goan villages, especially my Camurlim village. But my wife was upset for not getting her Caranzalem village on your site. Hope you will put that Caranzalem village article in the near future. I am writing to you from Oman.

By accident, I found your address, because I was in India many times. May be you now Spanish, and we can communicate, because I don't know too much English.

I hail from a little sleepy village called Colvale and was, indeed, astonished to read the colourful and exciting history of our village. We have stayed and been brought up in this tiny village and still not aware of its past history and the famous people who made this village their home. If we were only in some of the developed countries, we might have had a number of movie films made on the village and its history. Perhaps my parents may have heard at least some of the events that took place and I have just airmailed them a copy of this write-up on this village, and I am sure they may be equally surprised and very interested to know more. Is there more to come? Will you be reviewing the article again and adding some more information, as you gather. I wish we had some information ourselves and we could have passed the same to you. Thank you for the wonderful write up and also for putting our village in the limelight.
