Govt forms group to implement PMYY scheme in Goa

Panjim: For successful implementation of Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana (PMYY) in Goa, the State government has constituted a State-Level Joint Working Group (JWG) under Secretary Industries which will coordinate and converge entrepreneurship development initiatives.

PMYY aims to create an enabling ecosystem for Entrepreneurship Development through entrepreneurship education and training across the country in select Institutes of Higher Learning, schools, Industrial Training Institutes and Entrepreneurship Development Centers for over a period of five years.

The 18-member JWG, constituted for a period of two years, will have to recommend projects in the State and also have to monitor progress of the scheme.

JWG is also entrusted with the task of providing short and medium-term policy recommendations-cum-inputs on the scheme to enhance its access. It can also suggest course correction at State level within the ambit of the scheme.

The scheme will be supported by a network of Entrepreneurship and Coordination Hubs (E-hubs), comprising of 1 National E-hub, 5 Regional E-Hubs and 50 Nodal E-Hub for resource management and organization at different levels. The enrolled colleges, schools, ITIs and EDCs under this programme will be the implementation arm of the Project. [H]
