Margao: TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai on Thursday said that the government was open to reviewing approvals to a particular case in Sarzora if the panchayat’s objections were valid.
Speaking at a function to commission a sewerage project at Fatorda, Sardesai said the TCP amendment 16B brought to effect individual land zone changes was meant to give justice to those who were unjustly treated by the rationalisaiton policy of RP 2021 and bring about planned development in the State.
He said TCP Board member, Velim MLA Felipe Neri Rodrigues, would conduct an inspection of the plot with TCP officials after which the government would take an appropriate decision in the matter.
The minister said that the provisional conversion of Sarzora land was based on the applicant’s claims of possessing sanad of land based on RP 2011 zone change. However, inquiries revealed that the zone change was rendered defunct as RP 2011 was scrapped and the sanad issued was subsequently revoked.
The minister said that the government would be transparent and open to suggestions but would not buckle to pressure of perpetual antagonists. [H]
