PRAYING TOGETHER
BY ARTI DAS

Some of these similarities are seen in performing art forms like music, dance and theatre, as also in feasts, fairs and festivals. A remarkable feature of the bond between communities is the absence of bitterness from the past. Zagor performances staged annually in Siolim (Gudem) could be cited as a good example of communal harmony and understanding. Zagor is a folk play presented by the Gauda community. It is held every year, after the feast of Our Lady of Guia. The Hindus and Christians celebrate Zagor in a traditionally theatric form and till today, this tradition has brought families and religious sentiments of both the communities together. (GT)
