Babush
downloads Narvekar
PANJIM:
As expected,
Taleigao MLA
Atanasio (Babush)
Monserrate took
his tussle with
the government
over the Rajiv
Gandhi IT Habitat
at Dona Paula
to the Goa legislative
assembly, engaging
in a high-decibel
verbal clash
with IT Minister
Dayanand Narvekar,
during question
hour on January
14. A flustered
Narvekar was
coerced by a
charged-up opposition
to give an assurance
that he would
"revert
the plots"
allotted at
the IT Habitat,
if the allotees
do not set up
the required
infrastructure
at the site
within the time-span
of two years.
Replying to
the starred
query raised
by Monserrate,
the IT minister
claimed that
he had followed
the procedure
as per the criteria
laid out for
the allotment
of plots in
the IT Habitat
at Dona Paula.
