Irked students dump garbage in Mayor's cabin
PANJIM: Garbage made itself at home in the official chamber of city mayor Tony Rodrigues, as approximately 1000 protesting students from five schools in Panjim, stormed the mayoral cabin and dumped a heap of garbage there. The students hailed from People's High School, Mushtifund School, Mary Immaculate School, Hedgewar School and Seventh Day Adventist School, which are all affected by the stink caused by the unprocessed garbage at Patto. The morcha was organised by the Parents-Teachers' Association of People's High School in order to protest against the non-functioning of the Aneorobic Digester at Patto. This has resulted in foul smell in and around Mala, which is creating hell for these students. The protest morcha was meant to showcase the collective objection of the student community and also to open the eyes of the concerned authorities, as till date no concrete solution to the garbage crisis has formalised.
