Garbage
made
itself
at
home
in
the
official
chamber
of
city
mayor
Tony
Rodrigues,
as
approximately
1000
protesting
students
from
five
schools
in
Panjim,
stormed
the
mayoral
cabin
and
dumped
a
heap
of
garbage
there.
The
students
hailed
from
People's
High
School,
Mushtifund
School,
Mary
Immaculate
School,
Hedgewar
School
and
Seventh
Day
Adventist
School,
which
are
all
affected
by
the
stink
caused
by
the
unprocessed
garbage
at
Patto.
The
morcha
was
organised
by
the
Parents-Teachers'
Association
of
People's
High
School
in
order
to
protest
against
the
non-functioning
of
the
Aneorobic
Digester
at
Patto.
This
has
resulted
in
foul
smell
in
and
around
Mala,
which
is
creating
hell
for
these
students.
The
protest
morcha
was
meant
to
showcase
the
collective
objection
of
the
student
community
and
also
to
open
the
eyes
of
the
concerned
authorities,
as
till
date
no
concrete
solution
to
the
garbage
crisis
has
formalised.

landmark
