“Shine like diamonds,” was the message from Govind Gaude, Minister for Art and Culture, Government of India to the students at the closing ceremony of NAKSHATRAAZ 2018 organised by Rotary Club of Margao Midtown held recently at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. He then gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions.
Mahila Nutan High School Margaowon the overall championship, beating Model English H School Margao by just 20 points with Kings School coming third in a competition that saw 14 schools from all over Goa participate in 11 competitions spread over two days. They competed in Group Singing, Effective Public Speaking, Face Painting, Making of a Newspaper, Just a Minute, Voice of Nakshatraaz, Vision 2025, Rangoli, Quiz, Skit, and Group Dancing. Over 600 students competed for these events. This year, six special schools also showcased their talents on stage as well.
Earlier, at the inauguralfunction, Power Minister Nilesh Cabral while declaring the event open advised every student to compete in the true spirit of fairness. He said that every student competing is a winner. He congratulated the Rotary Club of Margao Midtown for organising an event like this for ten years in a row.
Nakshatrazz organised by The Rotary Club Of Margao Midtown supportedby Pentair Water India Limited and Ravindra Bhavan Margao is the annual interschool talent search program and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards event organised every year for the last 10 years. This year, in its tenth edition, 14 schools and six special schools participated in the event. Prashant Naik Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan Margao was the guest of honour along Venkat Rao of Pentair at the closing ceremony. President Artemio Welcomed the guests and Event Chair Sushant Surlakar proposed the vote of thanks. [H]
