MMC plans to continue plastic free Vasco initiative during Chaturthi

Vasco: The Mormugao Municipal Council plans to continue with its successful plastic free Vasco initiative during Ganesh Chaturthi.

Chief Officer Agnelo A. Fernandes has expressed his plans to continue the plastic free Vasco initiative for the festival as the administration plans to replace plastic with cloth bags, paper bags and leaves (patravali) for packing food. The Chief Officer has requested NGOs, self help groups and other likeminded organisations to support MMC’s endeavour to make Vasco plastic free. “The beginning we made has sent the message to Vascoites and has resonated with appreciation from all quarters.” [H]
