Panjim: President Ram Nath Kovind will make his first visit to Goa since taking office as president, on July 7 and 8, during which he will preside over Goa University’s 30th convocation ceremony.
Kovind, who was supposed to visit Goa on February 24, had deferred his arrival, following the sudden illness of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
Speaking to media persons, Parrikar said the President will be in Goa on July 7 and 8. “President will attend the convocation ceremony and the State will hold a civic reception,” he said.
This year over 8000 students will be awarded degrees. Students will be addressed by the President, Goa Governor and University Chancellor Dr Mridula Sinha. [H]
