Bicholim: MGP leader and from MLA from Bicholim Naresh Sawal has asked the party to leave the government if the BJP does not solve the mining issue in the next two months.
Sawal was speaking at a public meeting at Hirabai Zantye hall Bicholim attended by mining dependents and the members of Bicholim Bachao Abhiyaan. “If government cannot solve the mining issue in the next two months, MGP should walk out of the government,” Sawal said.
He exhorted the mining dependents to stay united and fight the battle. “There is no use of agitating at the bus stands, as no one is bothered about you. The government is least concerned about the mining affected people. They should unite themselves and show their strength,” Sawal said.
Coming down heavily on the BJP government for lack of development in Bicholim, he said that during his tenure as an MLA, there was development in Bicholim, but today there nothing seems to be moving. It may be mentioned that Sawal was an independent MLA from Bicholim in the previous term; at the last election, he contested on the MGP ticket, but lost to BJP candidate. [H]
