Sanguem ex-MLA denies Gaonkar’s allegations

Sanguem: A day after MLA Prasad Gaonkar accused Ex-MLA Subhash Phaldessai of not having done any development work in the constituency and that he did only talking during his tenure of five years as Sanguem MLA, Ex-MLA Subhash Phaldessai at a press conference held today at Sanguem dared Prasad Gaonkar to place before public in black and white of the development works he has done in the constituency during the last 15 months.

Phaldessai challenged Gaonkar to do at least 25 per cent of the development work done by him during his tenure in the next four years.

“During my tenure as MLA I have achieved development works of several crores of rupees and all these development works are highlighted by me in the leaflets placed before the voters,” claimed Gaonkar.

“Ironically Gaonkar could not complete majority of the works which I had started during my tenure despite about completion of 80 per cent of works prior to elections. Project works as that of construction of playgrounds in five panchayats, panchayat buildings in three panchayats and the work of a rest house constructed by Sanguem Municipality are all awaiting completion,” Phaldessai added.

“Gaonkar should take initiative to complete the pending works,” added Phaldessai further claiming that even the Sanguem Municipal administrative building which is completed in all respects could not be inaugurated by Gaonkar.

“Other pending works as that of Sanguem bridge, swimming pool at Government Sports Complex and Ravindra Bhavan for which all permissions are sought are awaiting completion,” claimed Phaldessai. [H]
