Mr Alan D’Sa, the Superintendent of Police, South Goa said, “We have been searching for him since the last two days. We visited the site where he was last seen, to try and find out as to where he might have gone from there.” He informed that two police platoons were engaged in the search operations, besides the entire Quepem divisional staff. However, he said that the efforts so far have not yielded any result. “We are continuing the search in other parts of the jungle,” he said.
Sanguem police said that on October 20, Mr Gaonkar, along with his wife and a relative went to their ancestral house at Walkini from Ugem to perform some religious ceremonies. Police said that the house is located around 10 kms form Ugem, in forested area.
