Selaulim Dam spillway overflows

Sanguem: The spillway of the Selaulim Dam at Sanguem, which offers an enchanting sight to the visitors during monsoon, has started overflowing on Wednesday evening.

The Selaulim Dam attracts most visitors during monsoon to witness the beauty of the water overflowing the spillway at a height of 42 metres. Last year, the water began to overflow on July 24.

Incidentally, though the Selaulim Dam would normally overflow in the third week of July, the water in the reservoir filled at a much earlier date following heavy downpour in the taluka for the past one week.

In addition, the Selaulim Dam also has a Botanical Garden which is run and maintained by the Goa Forest Development Corporation. [H]
