Noted music composer Sidhanath Buyao launched six music videos at a glittering function held at Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), Panjim, recently.Goa Minister for Art and Culture Govind Gaude, who was the Chief Guest at the launch function, said that music can be a useful medium to spread Konkani language across the world.
Congratulating Sidhanath Buyao on his music video launch, the minister said Sidhanath had immensely contributed in the field of music.
Gaude assured to take ahead the name of Goa, emphasising that Goans artistes would be always be backed by the government as it was very important for the artistes to have financial support.
He said as music was a powerful way to influence people, lyrics should contain a social message that will have an impact on the life of the people and the community. “There will be no one in the world who doesn’t like to listen to the music,” he added.
Also present on the occasion were Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar and Ravindra Bhavan Margao Chairman Prashant Naik. Chodankar remembered the late Ulhas Buyao, who had contributed a great deal to the field of music and said Sidhanath was walking in the steps of his father and taking music culture forward.Prashant Naik praised Sidhanath on the occasion, saying, “To give competition to the world, we need to use available new technology and this is rightly carried by Sidhanath, which will help take Konkani language across the globe.”
Addressing the gathering, Sidhanath informed that of the vidoes launched, four songs are in Konkani and one in Marathi; he has also composed one Hindi mashup for Vikram Gaitonde.
‘Umedichim Thodim Kirnnam’, penned by Sanjay Borkar, has been sung by Puja Naik, while another song on Lord Damodar has been sung by Sidhanath Buyao.One song has been written by Ravindra Bhavan Vice Chairman Saish Panandikar on ‘Shravan’ and a devotional song on Jesus has been penned by John Aguiar and sung by Buyao himself. The Marathi song penned by Neha Sawkar Vaze has been sung by singer Swapnil Bandodkar. All songs have been composed by Sidhanath Buyao. [H]
