Two trucks gutted in fire at harbour

Vasco: Two 10-wheeler trucks parked at the Mormugao Harbour caught fire on Thursday morning resulting in loss of property worth at least Rs 10 lakh.

The Vasco fire station informed that a heap of garbage in front of the Coast Guard terminal office was burning. It later spread to the parked trucks. The wheels of the truck caught fire first and soon all the wheels and the flat bed cargo compartment of the truck of wooden material also caught fire.

The fire destroyed the wheels of 2 trucks and also burnt the wooden cargo compartment of the trucks.

The Vasco fire station informed that the loss is to the tune of Rs 10 lakh and they managed to save property worth Rs 20 lakh. The MPT fire tenders and the Vasco fire tenders both doused the fire. [H]
