Vedanta workers to vote against BJP at LS polls

Bicholim: In a jolt to the BJP in Bicholim, the agitating workers of Vedanta mining company have decided to vote against BJP in the forth coming Lo Sabha elections.

Addressing a press conference at Bicholim on Sunday, the General Secretary of workers association Kishore Lokre stated that both the State and the Central government authorities have failed to find a proper solution for the mining issue thus prompting them to decide on voting against BJP in the coming parliamentary polls.

“As on today, the stand of the government is not clear on the mining issue; it is confused. The government would only give hollow assurances till the end of the elections. Therefore, we have lost our patience. We along with other mining affected components from the mining belt have therefore decided this time to vote against BJP,” Lokre said.

Press conference was also attended by President Nilesh Karbotkar, members Indrakant Falkar, Narayan Gaonkar, Deepak Popkar, Rajesh Gaonkar and others. [H]
