Panjim: Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude on Monday said he would not allow even a single drop of water to be diverted from River Mhadei.
“My stand on the Mhadei water dispute issue is very clear and it is not only now that I have been saying this. I will not allow even a single drop of water to be diverted from River Mhadei,” Gaude said speaking to reporters.
He said, “Mhadei water should not be diverted and I am clear on this. I have openly said that I am with Mhadei and not a single should be diverted to Malprabha.”
Meanwhile, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) spokesperson Sidhanath Buyao demanded that BJP make its stand clear on the entire Mhadei issue.
BJP National President Amit Shah, while addressing a rally in Belgaum, Karnataka, had said that farmers of the district will get Mhadei water in their farms in the next six months. [H]
