Margao: Taking the ‘list’ warning of Goencho Avaaz head on, TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai has maintained that he will investigate into the allegations even if the NGO does not substantiate them.
“Name-shame is not a good idea for responsible people. It is a fact that you are allowed under the Government Law to buy and sell properties and if it is legal what is wrong with that? I have shown the properties that I have, the ones I’ve developed too. I am a big landlord but I am doing agriculture in the property,” Vijai said.
Replying to the allegation of hotels proposed in RP 2021 in coastal areas, Vijai said, “If the coastal area won’t have a hotel, then what you are going to have there? Tourism is our inherent industry and if there is a hotel by a Goan, what is wrong in that, he asked.
“I am waiting for the second and third list, no problem. Let the list come up we will take the list and investigate even if they are not ready to come with the details. Let them come up with more lists,” he said.
“I have a clear case where charges have gone blatantly wrong where the land which they said at the Lohia Maidan meeting is converted, which is not converted” Vijai claimed.
They came at the public meeting, called the person corrupt, booed him, clapped and went. This is what I call “mobocracy” because there is no voice of reason and there is no substantiation of allegations,” Vijai added. [H]
