Zuari bridge closed on Sept 30 for three hours

Panjim: The Zuari bridge will remain closed for all vehicular traffic on September 30 between 6 am and 9 am as Public Works Department (PWD) will be recording the deck levels of the bridge.

Vehicular traffic to South Goa will be diverted via Borim bridge on NH-17B and also via ferry boats across River Zuari from Cortalim to Agassaim and vice versa.

The deck level checks are being done to ascertain the safety of the bridge, which connects North Goa with South Goa. Recently, there had been fears of cracks having developed on the bridge due to the ongoing construction work of the new bridge. However, this was rubbished by the PWD. [H]
